The Chilean soprano, Gabriela Lehmann Oporto, began her singing studies in Valdivia with Marianne Von Kiesling. She obtained the title as Pedagogue in Musical Education at the Universidad Austral de Chile; and Superior Interpretation in Arts, Singing Mention, with the teacher Hanns Stein, at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago; also studying with Jutta Vulpius in Berlin, Germany.
Gabriela Lehmann entered the professional choir of Santiago in 1986, participated as a soloist in various choral symphonic works and performed various roles in opera such as Gilda in Rigoletto, Pamina W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Susana in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, among many others, which adds to a tour of Europe with the Singkreis Choir. In 1990 she obtained first place in the Voces de la Quinta Región competition, being awarded the Apes prize in 1997. She has also premiered and participated in various contemporary works and recordings of CD's. She currently lives in Santiago, Chile. |
