The Malaysian mezzo-soprano and pianist, Mei Yen Lee (Chinese: 李美燕), obtained her Diploma in Music from UCSI University, Malaysia in 2002; her Bachelor of Arts degree (Honors) in Music from Middlesex University, London in 2003; and her Master of Arts degree in Music (Piano Performance) from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge in 2006. She has studied choral conducting with Audrey Chung, vocal under Solomon Chong and Cecilia Yap, and piano accompaniment under Elaine Pao.
Mei Yen Lee was a music faculty of Te Deum Music Workshop, where she gave piano lessons and musicianship trainings. She was a choir member and principal pianist of Yin Qi Chorale, as well as a piano accompanist for various ballet schools. She has been serving as the choral director of Yin Qi Youth Chorale and the Subang City Disciple Presbyterian Church Choir. In the coming fall (2017), she will start pursuing a M.A. in Choral Conducting in University of Cincinnati, USA.. |
