The German choral conductor, organist, harpsichordist, church musician and composer, Enrico Langer, was born in Annaberg-Buchholz in 1976 and grew up in Wiesa (Ore Mountains). He was allowed to take his first musical steps in Mauersberg with Johannes Stuhlemmer. He completed his training as a part-time church musician (C-Studies) at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Dresden from 1994 to 1996, where he was greatly influenced by Gottfried Rüger. From 1997 to 2001 he studied in the diploma course at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Dresden. His teachers included KMD cathedral organist Hansjürgen Scholze, KMD Eberhard Egermann, Steffen Walther and KMD Prof. Dr. dr h.c. Christfried Broedel. Already during his studies, Enrico Langer took part in organ and improvisation courses with Christopher Stembridge in Italy and Nigel Allcoat in England, among others. During this time he also appeared in public as an organist at radio and television services (MDR and ZDF) and at international organ concert series.
Since September 2001, Enrico Langer has been a church musician at the Stadtkirche St. Niklas in Ehrenfriedersdorf. In 2012 he was appointed assistant and deputy director of church music in the church district of Annaberg. He has also been working as a lecturer in the D and C training for several years. Regular engagements at home and abroad as a soloist or continuo player, e.g. at the Dresdner Musikfestspielen and the Musikfest Erzgebirge, complement his activities. His compositional work is primarily devoted to music with a religious context for the musical circles of his parish. In 2009, he wrote the children's musical Mönsch Martin together with his friends Matthias Grummet and KMD Ulrich Meier, which became known and played throughout Germany during the Luther Decade and was applauded at two church conferences.
In the summer of 2014, Enrico Langer recorded the first complete recording of Rudolf Mauersberger's organ works, which was released on the renowned Querstand label. The recording "Orgelwerke von Rudolf Mauersberger" (2014) and the recording "Schneeberger Orgelbuch um 1705" (2019) were nominated for the" Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik".
