The French soprano, Sophie Landy, studied Violin, Flute, Harmony, Choral Song, Music Training (Gold Medal) at Le Mans, Danse classique et contemporaine (1983-2000); 1995 Musicology in La Sorbonne in Paris, Baroque dance at the Conservatoire du VIIe (1992-1995). In 1996, she graduated 1996 received Graduation diploma of Lyric singing from Conservatoire du VIe (Professor Ch. Eda-Pierre). She obtained her Higher Diploma in Early Music and Certificate in Renaissance Music Education from the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (1999-2000). In 2006, she won Composer's SPEDIDAM Prize at the European Opera and Melodies Competition of Mâcon for the creation of Guy Reibel's Phoenix. In 1989 she had Scholarship of the Vocation de l’Académie du Maine.
Sophie Landy was chorister in Ensemble vocal de Paris (Director: Y. Parmentier) with whom she sang , Romantic music and 20th century (1990-1995); Les Eléments (Director: J. Suhubiette) with whom she sang Berlioz (CD conducted by M. Plasson), W.A. Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi (2000, 2008); Akadêmia Ensemble (Director: Françoise Lasserre) with whom she sang Gabriel Fauré, Haydn, Johannes Brahms, J.S. Bach ... and paticipated in in teaching actions in schools and colleges in vocal quartets (1997-2002).
Sophie Landy's career has taken her to sing in China, Turkey, Malta, Ukraine and in the main French festivals (Ambronay, Folles Journées, Chaise-Dieu, Château de Versailles …). She sang as a guest many oratorios (George Frideric Handel, J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Haydn, Igor Stravinsky ...). Since 1993, she has been a soloist of many Baroque ensembles (Le Concert Lorrain, Les Meslanges, la Ménestrandise, La Pelegrina, Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse, Le Simphonie du Marais, Les Elements or Le Concert Spirituel, etc) for cantatas or small motets. From 2000 to 2004 she sang with La Simphonie du Marais (Director: H. Reyne): operas by Lully, Cambert, Athalie by Racine / Moreau recorded bt Calliope label and appeared at the festivals of Ambronay, la Chabotterie, Château-Thierry. Since 1995 the sang with Orpheus Choir (Director: N. Heuzé): Divines Divas (pot pourri of operatic arias), Ellen in Lakmé, Dido and Aeneas, King Arthur, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, on the stages of Alençon, La Flèche, Abbaye de l’Epau, Le Mans …. Also on stage she performed the roles of Blondchen, Elvira and Pamina by W.A. Mozart.
Since 1998 Sophie Landy sang with Cie La Ruelle d'Arthénice (Director: A.M. Goulet): versatility music, dance and theater (with B. Lazar and L. Moaty until 2005); appeared at the festivals of Château-Thierry, Pontoise, Montreuil/Mer, Couperin. She also wrote and performed the missing vocal music of Opera, comedy by Saint- Evremond (2003). Since 1999 with Ensemble Sagittarius (Director: Michel Laplénie), she has sung German Baroque music, tours in China and Germany, concerts at the Opéra de Bordeaux, Cité de la musique, Folles Journées,, colleges and high schools. Since 2004, she has sung with Ensemble Baroque de Nice (Director: G. Bezzina): J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), G.F. Handel's Poro at Opéra de Nice, Antonio Vivaldi's In Furore, Agar e Ismaele and title role in Giuditta by Alessandro Scarlatti (Gilbert Blin) acclaimed by Opéra magazine, Classica, Diapason; appeared at the festivals of the Chaise-Dieu, la Chaboterie, Lessay ...
She also sang J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 115 with Christophe Coin in Paris (November 2015) and recorded Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244).
Sophie Landy has also performed in duo and trio: in 2010 "Amours lyriques", opera arias with the tenor Carl Ghazarossian and the pianist David Zobel, created at the 2010 Vézère Festival; since 1998 with Nanja Breedijck on the 17th century harp: Musée de la Musique, Courson, Gourdon, schools, nursery; with Nanja Breedijck on the 1789 harp Nadermann and Philippe Allain-Dupré on 1785 flute 1785: French and Scottish romances; in 2004-2006 with the organist André Isoir: La Flèche, Mérignac, Nemours and CD "Meslanges" on Calliope. She recently created the recital "Désirs d'Orient" on her return from Turkey and currently explores the current melodies of Previn or Tavener in a program with cello. She is also collaborating with the Ensemble Musicatreize for contemporary music.
In the field of education, Sophie Landy gave voice training for teachers at IUFM Livry-Gargan (2003-2006); taught at Académies de musique ancienne de Médoc Aquitaine; Stages Montesquieu à Sauternes (2002-2007); gave master-classes of Baroque singing. Conservatories of Bordeaux, Aurillac, Alençon. Conferences open to the public outside The monody, origin of the opera: advent of a new vocal practice (2008-2012).
