The Hong Kong Chinese soprano, Chloe Lam, is currently studying Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University. She passed ATCL in Voice with Distinction in 2012 under the tutelage of Ms. Chan Siu Kwan. In her pursuit as an all-rounded musician, she has also studied piano and percussion. She is grateful to be supported by several scholarship funds during her studies, including HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund, the Hong Kong Children’s Choir Scholarship, K. Wah International Vocal Scholarship and Dr. Daniel Tse Music Scholarship. Recently, she received Leo Tung-hai Lee Scholarship Fund from Italian Cultural Society of Hong Kong for attending Siena Summer Session for Music and the Arts (SSMA) in Italy this summer.
Chloe Lam has won different championships in the voice competitions of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, and took up solo roles when she was in the Hong Kong Children’s Choir. She has toured with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir with conductor and music director Kathy Fok to Russia, Austria, Italy, Singapore, and Malaysia. She is an alumna of Sacred Heart Canossian College. Having left her alma mater, her passionate devotion to its music activities is still prominent. She conducted the alumnae choir this year and is giving vocal coaching to current students regularly.
Chloe Lam sang and worked with renowned conductor including Helmuth Rilling, Hak Won Yoon, Ko Matsushita, Yip Wing-sie. She was invited to perform in the vocal master-classes by Stephen Ng, W. Dwight Coleman and Frans Huijts. She has also appeared as a soprano soloist in an extensive repertoire including Haydn’s Kleine Orgelmesse, W.A. Mozart's Coronation Mass, George Frideric Handel's Dixit Dominus, Anthony Bolton’s A Garland of Carols, John Rutter's Gloria, and Benjamin Britten's Antiphon. Later this year, she will sing J.S. Bach's aria Ich esse mit Freunde mein weniges Brot with SingFest Choral Academy. Her upcoming performances also include the role as Cosette in “Les Misérables in Concert” with the Hong Kong Youth Choir.
Chloe Lam is active in choirs as she views that singing is the bridge to all mankind. She is currently a member of the Hong Kong Youth Choir, the Cantoria Hong Kong, HKOS Cantata Singers, HKNME Chamber Choir and Die Konzertisten. She also participated in performances by the Asia Pacific Youth Choir and The Learners’ Chorus. She performed with Sinfonietta Hong Kong, Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra and Hong Kong Youth Windophilics. |
