Les Voix Baroques (= LVB) is a professional chamber ensemble dedicated to historically informed performances and recordings of unexplored 17th and 18th century repertoire for voices and instruments.
Founded in 1999, the group features Canadian counter-tenor Matthew White and has a regular concert series of Baroque vocal and instrumental programmes in Montréal. With founding members represented on voice (Matthew White), Baroque violin (Chloe Meyers), and Baroque cello (Amanda Keesmaat), Les Voix Baroques has a flexible core instrumental ensemble, which includes Baroque violin, Baroque viola, Baroque oboe, harpsichord, Baroque flute and double-bass. Associated members enrich the ensemble with Baroque bassoon, viola da gamba, recorder, lute and partatif organ. The ensemble regularly invites both young singers and world-renowned guest singers to perform.
Les Voix Baroques has been the ensemble in residence at Christ Church Cathedral in Montréal since January 1999, where the group performs their series. |
