The Austrian conductor, Wolfgang Kostner, studied at the College of Education in Innsbruck and graduated with a Master of Music degree from University Mozarteum in 2000 (Directing vocal and instrumental ensembles - under Howard Arman) as well as from the Tyrolean Academy of Music in 2001 (Conducting under Edgar Seipenbusch). Kostner has also studied under a number of distinguished conductors, including Fabio Luisi, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Frieder Bernius, Howard Arman, Franz Welser-Möst, Lorin Maazel, Alfred Reed, Robert Reynolds and László Marosi. Further he was finalist at the conductors competition „Windmaker 2006“ in Vienna.
Wolfgang Kostner is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Vokalensemble NovoCanto. He has performed as musician, vocalist and artistic director with various ensembles of different genres in and outside of the Tyrol region. Kostner has repeatedly been invited to conferences and workshops as contributor and consultant. He is a versatile musician, teacher and producer at the ORF Tyrol. |
