The Ukrainian pianist, music teacher and composer, Kirill Korsunenko, showed early his interest in music and had first appearances on stage from the age of 6. He received his musical education at the Stolyarsky Special Music School with Svetlana Shuvalova and Odessa National Music Academy A.V. Nezhdanova in the class of Professor Pawel Mulyar (Class of 2013). During his studies in Odessa he received a scholarship for young artists of the President of Ukraine. He was awarded First Prize and Prize for the best interpretation of Spanish music at the 16th International Piano Competition "Spanish Composers" in Las Rozas de Madrid (2015). He won the Second Prize and Special Prize at the 5th International Piano Competition "In Memory of Emil Gilels" in Odessa (2012). In 2013 he received Second Prize (the First Prize was not awarded) and Audience Prize at the 9th International Piano Competition "Prix Amadeo de Piano 2013" in Aachen and the Third Prize at the International Competition "Maria Herrero" in Granada. He won also Third Prize at the 28th International Competition "Cidade de Ferrol" (2014) and First Prize at Steinway Piano Award in Düsseldorf (2015). He continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Department Aachen in the class of Professor Andreas Frölich, where he obtained his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees (2012-2017). He got a lot of strong impulses from famous professors as Dmitri Bashkirov, Norma Fischer, Nikolay Kryzhanovski, Vadim Rudenko, Pawel Gililov, Jacques Rouvier and others.
Kirill Korsunenko performes solo concerts regularly in Europe as well as concertos with orchestra. Among them W.A. Mozart's Piano Concertos in D minor KV466 with Sinfónica de Galicia and in C major KV415 with Kammerorchestra of the Orchesterzentrum NRW, Sergei Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on the theme of Paganini with Odessa National Philharmonic, etc. Recording of his performances were broadcasted by Ukrainian and German radio and TV channels. His recitals were by series "Juventudes Musicales" in Seville, "Ciclo de grandes solistos" in Auditorio de Zaragoza, "Orpheo" in Netherlands and "Bechstein Young Professionals" in Cologne. In 2016 he had several concerts in Netherlands by series «New Masters on Tour» with debut in Het Concertgebouw.
Kirill Korsunenko has also ample experience in the domains of chamber music, jazz, improvisation and composition. He is a member of "B-Sight Ensemble" for contemporary music. In recent years he works on music of J.S. Bach and his recital programms include such works as Partitas and Goldberg-Variations (BWV 988).
