The Japanese mezzo-soprano, Maria Koshiishi, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree (March 2017) and her Master of Music degree (March 2019) in classical singing at Tokyo University of the Arts. Currently she studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium - Royal Conservatoire in the Hague being awarded Holland scholarship.
During the bachelor’s education Maria Koshiishi started performing regularly with Bach Collegium Japan (Director: Masaaki Suzuki). As a soloist she has sung in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Felix Mendelssohn’s Paulus and Ellias, L.v. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Igor Stravinsky’s Les Noces, J.S. Bach’s Messe in h-moll (BWV 232), Magnificat (BWV 243) and cantatas and W.A. Mozart’s messes. In 2019 she gave her first Lieder-Abend in Japan featuring romantic German and Russian repertoire. She currently lives The Hague, Netherlands. |
