The German tenor, Henning-Arfst Klocke, began his vocalist training at the Hamburg Academy of Music with Mark Bruce and later studied with Professor Monika Bürgener at the Würzburg Conservatoire. He undertook further studies with Scot Weir, Christoph Prégardien and Thomas Quasthoff, with whom he still trains. He has also taken part in numerous master singing courses, such as with Barbara Schlick, Montserrat Figueras, Kurt Equiluz, Harry van der Kamp, Peter Kooy, Peter Schreier, to name a few.
Henning Klocke is an interpreter who is in great demand at many international festivals (Festa da Música Lisbon, Franconian Summer, Munich Biennial, La folle Journée, Heidelberg Spring, Shanghai Spring, Oktogonale Hamburg) and has participated in numerous CD and radio recordings. At the Munich State Theatre he made his opera debut singing the leading role of Ruggiero in La liberatione di Ruggiero by Francesca Caccini. Concert tours have taken him to France, Spain, Portugal, China, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
These days Henning Klocke's work concentrates on the music of the 17th and 18th centuries and to this end he has been working together of late with the Ensemble Musica Fiorita (Director: Daniela Dolci), Ludger Rémy and Christoph Spering, amongst other people. 2006 included concerts and CD recordings with the Ensembles Hamburger Ratsmusik, Ludger Rémy, Ensemble The King's Delight, at the Franconian Summer, Arolser Barock-Festspiele, in Spain, Holland and France. |
