The Polish violinist, Magdalena Kling-Fender, studied violin under Professor Iwona Wojciechowska at the Academy of Music in Łódź, receiving her diploma with honours in 1999. She perfected her performing skills during master-classes in Łańcut, Żagań and Głuchołazy (Poland). As a high school and university student, she won prizes at various regional, national and international music competitions including the 3rd prize in the National Violin Audition in Elbląg (1993), an honourable mention in the Stanisław Serwaczyński National Violin Competition in Lublin (1993), a prize granted by the Łódź Music Society in the Karol Szymanowski International Violin Competition (1997) and an honourable mention at the Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition for Music Students in Łódź in the piano trio category (1998).
Magdalena Kling-Fender has performed at academic conferences organized by the Academy of Music in Ł・dź, including a contemporary music session entitled Musica Moderna. She has worked with the “Studio” sextet, founded by professors of the Łódź Academy, made recordings for the Polish Radio and Television, and took part in the recording of Wojciech Lemański’s soundtrack for Piotr Trzaskalski’s films Edi (2002) and Mistrz (2005).
Magdalena Kling-Fender has appeared at several music festivals in Poland: the 10th International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Wolsztyn (2005), the Nałęczów Cultural Spring (2006) and the 23rd Chopin Confrontations in the Radziwiłłs’ Palace in Antonin, where she took part in a concert featuring compositions by Olga Hans and Monika Kędziora.
For years Magdalena Kling-Fender has performed with her sister and pianist Katarzyna Kling. In 1997 they were joined by Magdalena’s husband, Robert Fender, and together they formed the Trio Vivo ensemble.
