The German guitarist, Jürgen Klatt, won an accessit and a bronze medal at the 1964 International Guitar Concours, organised by RTF under the direction of Robert J. Vidal. He taught classical guitar at the Musikinstitut der Universität Frankfurt am Main in the 1980's. Among his pupils there were Oliver Jäger, Stefan Sauer, Herbert Müller, Fred Kettner, and Michael Bernschneider. During the 1970's he recorded for the labels BASF Harmonia Mundi (solo guitar works by Don Luys Milan, Miguel de Fuenlanna, Luys Narvaez, Alonso Mudara, Conte Lodovico Roncalli, J.S. Bach, Giovanni Battista Granata, Giuseppe Antonio Brescianello), and Da Camera Magna ý(chamber music by Anton Diabelli, with flautist Frank Nagel and violist Theodor Kempen).
In the first half of the 1980's, Jürgen Klatt has been the artistic leader and soloist of a trio named Deutsches Gitarren-Ensembe, which recorded the LP "Musik des Barock". The ensemble gave concerts in Germany during 1980-1985, in which they played pieces by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Esaias Reusner (1636-1679), Silvius Leopold Weiss (1687-1750), José de Larrañaga (1728-1806), Antonio Soler (1729-1783), Rafaél Anglés (1730-1816), Enrique Granados (1867-1916), Federico Mompou (1893-1987) , Hanns Jelinek (1901-1969), Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909), Claude Debussy (1862-1918), Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951), Manuel de Falla (1876-1946), Darius Milhaud (1892-1974), |
