Anna Kislitsyna (Piano, Harpsichord)

Born: Novosibirsk, Russia

The Russian pianist and harpsichordist, music pedagogue and researcher, Anna Kislitsyna, hails from a long and noble tradition of music making in Russia. Both of her parents are highly trained established artists. She made her solo debut at age 10 with the Omsk Symphony Orchestra. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree and her Master of Music degree from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory in Russia (2002-2009) with her primary teachers being Professors Larisa Smeshko and Mary Lebenzon. She also completed there her Postgraduate Course-work in Piano Performance (Doctorate degree) with the dissertation on Olivier Messiaen’s Vingt regards sur l'Enfant-Jésus. She was on piano faculty at the Novosibirsk Conservatory as well as Novosibirsk Special Music School-College. From 2002 to 2012, she served as a soloist in residence with the Omsk Symphony Orchestra.

In 2012, Anna Kislitsyna moved to the USA. She completed her second Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where she studied with with Dr. Igor Resnianski (2012-2014). She completed her second DMA degree in Piano Performance at Temple University in Pennsylvania, where she got full fellowship (2014-2018). She studied there piano with Dr. Charles Abramovic, Harpsichord with Dr. Joyce Lindorff, andchamber music with Professor Lambert Orkis on chamber music.

Anna Kislitsyna has concertized throughout Russia, Europe, and the USA, giving solo recitals, performing with symphony orchestras, and chamber ensembles. She is in high demand as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and teacher. She appeared in such halls as Carnegie Hall in New York, Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, The Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Rachmaninov Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Alfred Cortot Hall of Paris Conservatory, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Hall, and numerous concert stages in Russia, Finland, Italy, France, Ukraine, USA, etc. Her large repertoire includes major works from solo and chamber literature.

Anna Kislitsyna has performed with such orchestras as Novosibirsk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Omsk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Omsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Yaroslavl Academic Symphonic Orchestra, and Temple University Symphony Orchestra. She worked with such conductors as Yuri Nikolaevsky, Andreas Delfs, Evgeny Shestakov, Dmitry Vasilyev, Vladimir Prasolov, Evgeny Samoilov, Alexander Pariman, Mark Abramov, Andrei Radchenko, Valery Ryvkin, Andre Raphel, and Evgeny Bushkov.

As a collaborative pianist, Anna Kislitsyna has performed recitals with principal players of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has worked with Delaware University, Haverford College, West Chester University, Temple University, the Primavera Fund, Harmony for Peace Foundation, and PMAY Artists Initiative. She is the official collaborative pianist of Ictus International Music Competition.

From 2014 Anna Kislitsyna is a member of Trio Casals which actively performs in the USA and abroad. In 2015 Trio Casals recorded CD of modern chamber music and presented it in the Carnegie Hall. In 2015 she was a member of Philadelphia International Music Festival, where she performed Philadelphia Orchestra musicians.

Anna Kislitsyna has won prizes in multiple international competitions including Global Music Awards 2020; Lautard-Chetchenko Competition in France; International Chamber Music Competition in Finland; Liszt International Competition, Los Angeles, Cakifornia; and Chopin International Piano Competition in Connecticut; and various International Piano Competitions in Russia and Europe. In 2014 Anna got the award from The Jacobs Music Steinway Company for outstanding pianistic achievements.

Recent season highlights include returning to the Omsk Philharmonic as a soloist to give the inaugural performance on the new harpsichord, a CD release concert in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, and a tour of China with Trio Casals. As a recording artist, she has completed six CD's of contemporary chamber music as the pianist of Trio Casals on the Parma Label.

As a teacher, Anna Kislitsyna has served on the piano faculty at the Novosibirsk Conservatory (August 2009-June 2012), one of the top conservatories in Russia. She worked as Staff pianist at vocal department at Arts at West Chester University of Pennsylvania (September 2012-2014); Staff Pianist at Opera Studio and Symphony Orchestra at Temple University (August 2014-August 2018). She is currently on the faculty at Haverford College (since September 2020), the Nelly Berman School of Music and the Philadelphia International Music Festival. Among her students’ achievements are performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra as young as age 12 and giving a solo recital at the White House. Additionally, her students performed with various symphony orchestras, including Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Kiev Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Symphony Orchestras, Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra, and others. Her students are winners of numerous international piano competitions in Italy, Austria, China, Korea, Poland, Ukraine, USA, and Russia, including the London International Competition, Rachmaninov International Piano Competition, Gershwin International Competition, Greenfield Competition, Boulder Bach Festival, and more. They annually perform in Carnegie Hall. She frequently serves as a jury member at international piano competitions and has given master-classes in China, Russia, and the USA.

Anna Kislitsyna is a scholar researcher of the French composer Oliver Messiaen and the Russian composer Alfred Schnittke. She has published a dissertation on the latter's Concerto for Piano and Strings, as well as articles She published many articles in related to his piano works in Russian and English languages, including on the music of Olivier Messiaen, Sergei Prokofiev, Domenico Scarlatti, and Rodion Shchedrin. She successfully presented her scholarly works in various international research conferences of classical music.
