The Danish bass, Thomas Kiørbye, holds a masters degree in musicology and philosophy from the University of Aarhus (Class of 1986). His thesis “An American in New York” deals with the aesthetics of the composer John Cage. After some years of cello studies (terminated around the age of 20) vocal ensemble singing has been at the centre of his interest as a musician. He has studied singing with, among others, Jens Bundgård, Helge Frees Christiansen, Bodil Øland, Oren Brown and Kirsten Buhl Møller.
Thomas Kiørbye has been a member of Ars Nova Copenhagen since 1993. From 1997 he has also worked as manager of Ars Nova Copenhagen. Hae likes classic and modern art - and what’s in between. He currently lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. |
