The American soprano, Raquel King, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from John Brown University (JBU) in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with Mr. Paul Smith; and her Master of Music degree from Wichita State University in Kansas under Dr. Deborah Baxter. She is an artist certificate student at the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville, where she continues her studies under Dr. Moon-Sook Park (as of April 2019).
Raquel King has been featured in numerous concerts, including several J.S. Bach's solo cantatas as well as opera roles including L’elisir d’amore, Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute, and a premier performance of Hageman’s Nightingale and the Rose. A sacred choral music enthusiast, she won a position in Helmuth Rilling’s Festival Choir in Stuttgart, Germany through the International Bach Academy. Raquel King and her tenor husband, Chris King, sing and direct a variety of choirs and ensembles at their home church, Fellowship Bible Church of Springdale. |
