The Polish pianist, Jozef Kapustka, began his musical studies at the age of 3. Meeting Sviatoslav Richter shortly thereafter has set his vocation ever since. Upon graduating from New York Juilliard School in 1992 he completed a Postgraduate Advanced Studies diploma specialising in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, having worked subsequently with Dmitri Baskirov in Madrid and legendary Vera Gornostaeva in Moscow and eventually settled down to live in Paris.
Very early Jozef Kapustka started to appear in most of New York's world class premises such as Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum, United Nations, jointly with Tamami Honma, Japan at the Carnegie Hall ("magical, amazing experience" as seen in The New York Times) and has been featured on Voice of America International and New York classical radio WQXR live radio broadcasts hailed as "one of the most interesting radio programmings on the air" by opinionated New York Village Voice. Furthermore he has been featured on France Musique and Europe1 broadcasts. Subsequently his concert career has taken him to Italy with Sicily, Greece and Creta, Malte, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Ukraine, Germany ("a great introverted pianist, obsessed technician"" - Nurnberger Zeitung), Switzerland, France ("a particularly beautiful concert" - Radio France International), French Polynesia with Tahiti, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey, Lybia, Egypt, Jordan, Brazil and USA with Hawaii.
At times Jozef Kapustka would also display a surprisingly ecclectic taste collaborating with French leading stage directors Roger Louret while acting out his own character to a sound critical acclaim ("what a talent!atrue juke-box!ask the piece, he plays it" - Depeche du midi) and Jean Christian Grinevald for the world's largest and most prestigious theater festival in Avignon, France. Kapustka is a winner of numerous prizes and awards, among those 1994 Grand Prix of the Paris International Conservatory, Olga Samaroff Prize in Piano (USA), laureate of Albeniz Foundation, Madrid,Johnson Foundation, Princeton etc. Sought after accompanyist he has worked with Mariinsky, Bolchoi and Paris National opera soloists Mzia Nioradze, Irina Tchistiakova, Mikhail Petrenko, Sergei Stilmachenko and some of the most brilliant violinists of their generations David Galoustov and Fedor Roudine.
A highly respected American critic and writer, David Dubal ("Remembering Horowitz") has once called Jozef Kapustka a " great pianist who loves his art", leading American authority on Liszt playing Jerome Lowenthal "an excellent and very interesting artist" , pianists György Sándor and Oxana Yablonskaya respectively " true musical talent" and " very exciting and fully committed individual". His solo or joint performances are unvariably and unanimously met by public and critical acclaim, as seen recently: "...a high voltage stuntman, inspired and talentuous.Excellentissime evening, huge bravo!"; "sensational, both monumental and intimist pianist", Billetreduc; "Highly entertaining playing" 20 minutes Europe; "Close to delirious", Le Figaro; "Done expertly and with much talent" Regard en coulisse, "do not miss it!"
