The Japanese pianist, Takeshi Kakehashi, was born in Tokyo to musician parents. He lost his eyesight to childhood cancer just a month after birth. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He is prize winner of major competitions such as the Long-Thibaud Competition Paris.
Since then Takeshi Kakehashi has performed extensively as a solo pianist, collaborating with great conductors such as Seiji Ozawa, Daniel Harding, and Fabio Luisi. |
