The Kfar-Saba Chamber Choir (= KSCC) was established in 1986 and functions under the auspices of Kfar Saba's Department of Culture. Composer-conductor Aharon Harlap took over as musical director in 1997. The choir comprises some 40 talented amateur singers. The choir has sung in festivals in Israel and abroad, including the Israel Festival, Abu Gosh Festival, and Music and Nature festivals.
KSCC has performed with several prominent orchestras (including the Raanana Symphonette and Ashdod orchestra) and in subscription concerts in various locations (including the Museum of the Diaspora, Beer-Sheva Sinfonietta and Jerusalem’s Brigham Young University). KSCC has also made live recordings for both Israel Television and the Voice of Music radio station. In October 1998 the choir was awarded a gold diploma at the Shirat Hayamim International Choral Competition held in Netanya, Israel. The choir participated in gala concerts in Haifa and Nazareth to mark the arrival of the new millennium.
KSCC undertook a concert tour of Spain in the year 2000. In 2003 it undertook a tour of Hungary, at the invitation of Gábor Hollerung, conductor of the Budapest Academy Choir. During its Hungary tour the choir gave a capella concerts in Budapest and Pecs, and also participated in the performance of the W.A. Mozart's Requiem in the Vigado auditorium, with the Budapest Academy Choir and Orchestra, under the baton of Gábor Hollerung.
In recent times the choir appeared in cooperation with leading Israeli orchestras, including the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Beer-Sheva Sinfonietta and Ashdod Orchestra, in highly successful performances around the country, under leading conductors such as Stanley Sperber, Yaron Traub, Ronen Borshevski and Aharon Harlap, among others.
