The Chamber Orchestra of the Kyiv House of Scientists (Ukrainian: амерний оркестр Київського Будинку вчених; = KHS-CO) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a full-time group of musicians. The orchestra was created in June 2014 by Dmitry Boldin from students and graduates of the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music of Ukraine and other higher music schools in Kyiv. It was originally called the Kyiv Youth Chamber Orchestra "Blago-orchestra" (Київський молодіжний камерний оркестр «Blago-orchestra»).
The orchestra began its concert activity with the performance of J.S. Bach's Cantata Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich, BWV 150, which was performed together with the choir of students on the stage of the Small hall of the National Academy of Music as part of the State Examination of Choral Graduates on June 4, 2014.
After a two-year break, the ensemble resumed its creative activities and actively gives concerts, including on such famous stages as the Small hall of PI Tchaikovsky NMAU, the Big hall of the Kyiv House of Scientists, Odessa Regional Philharmonic, Odessa National Academic Opera Theater and Ballet, Zhytomyr Regional Philharmonic named after Svyatoslav Richter.
A separate page in the development and creative activity of the ensemble was the opportunity to continue it as the Chamber Orchestra of the Kyiv House of Scientists, which was facilitated by the director - Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Kalinina Alla Anastasiyivna, the staff of the House of Scientists and in particular Honored Artist of Ukraine.
The orchestra conducts active concert activities. So in the period from 27 to 30 June 2017, the Chamber Orchestra of the Kyiv House of Scientists took part in the third All-Ukrainian Odessa Choral Festival "Joy". The festival is held annually by the Holy Iberian Monastery with the blessing of His Eminence Agafangel, Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail. On the third day of the festival (June 29) at the All-Ukrainian Center of Bulgarian Culture, the Chamber Orchestra of the Kyiv House of Scientists together with the combined women's choir and men's choir of the Iversky Monastery performed Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria. The orchestra also took part in the final concert of the festival, performing, among other things, the orchestrated version of the spiritual anthem of Ukraine God is the Great One.
On November 9, 2017, a concert of classical music took place in the Kyiv House of Scientists. The Chamber Orchestra of the Kyiv House of Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academic Choir of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine "Golden Gate" performed W.A. Mozart's Coronation Mass. The Large hall of the House of Scientists and the corridor near this hall were completely filled with spectators.
On April 27-28, 2018, the Chamber Orchestra of the Kyiv House of Scientists opened the final concert of the second cultural and artistic festival "Grieg Fest" in Zhytomyr. The festival is dedicated to the work of the outstanding Norwegian composer Edward Grieg and his scientific work on the study and systematization of folklore in northern Europe, including Norwegian. |
