The Norwegian choral conductor and pianist, Knut Christian Jansson, studied piano at the Griegakademiet (Grieg Academy) and at the Norwegian Academy of Music (Norges musikkhøgskole) and church music at the Griegakademiet.
Knut Christian Jansson has been a soloist with the Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester, Sjøforsvarets Musikkorps and Det Norske Blåseensemble. He is a very active chamber musician, has worked with musicians such as Tine Thing Helseth, and Christian Lindberg and is the accompanist for several of Norway's leading singers. He also has a concert series at Kode, the art museums in Bergen together with art historian Gunnar Danbolt. He is regularly used as a pianist in the ensemble Bit20.
From the autumn of 2019, Knut Christian Jansson has held a permanent position at the Grieg Academy, UiB. He has performed at a number of festivals, including the Bergen Festival, the Borealis Festival and the Østfold Chamber Music Festival. For the last five years he has been the Pianist of the Week at Troldhaugen.
Knut Christian Jansson is the musical director of the boys' choir and the men's choir and is cantor in Fridalen kirke. He has built up there one of Norway's largest church boys' choirs and together with them performed a number of major church musical works such as J.S. Bach's
Christmas Oratorio, George Frideric Handel's
Messiah and W.A. Mozart's
Requiem. |
