Hans Hermann Jansen (Tenor, Baritone)

Born: November 1, 1960 - Germany

he German tenor and baritone, Hans Herman Jansen, studied arts and classical languages at the Collegium Augustinianum Gaesdonck (Class of 1979); then music theory and singing at the Detmolder Musikhochschule (Class of 2001). After graduating, he attended competitions and master-classes, with Gérard Souzay, Kurt Moll, Robert Spencer and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, among others.

From 1986 to 2005, Hans Herman Jansen participated in outstanding projects as a singer in La Chapelle Royale in Paris, Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe) and EVE (European Vocal Ensemble). Other activities followed at La Petite Bande (Director: Sigiswald Kuijken), Anima Aeterna (Director: Jos van Immerseel) and"Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir (Director: Ton Koopman). He has sung under leading conductors as Giuseppe Sinopoli, Jordi Savall, Gustav Leonhardt, Philippe Herreweghe, Hans Fonk and Ton Koopman. He has appeared in festivals and academies in France, Belgium and Germany, for example, the Bundesschulmusikkongreß or the Deutsche Begabtenförderung. Moreover, he is a frequent lecturer with subjects ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary art projects.

Since 1992, Hans Herman Jansen is closely connected to the Abtei Marienmünster. In 1993, he founded the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde der Abtei Marienmünster e.V., the Duo Philomele (singer / guitar), the soloist group Col/Voc Detmold/Leipzig, and in 1996, the Musikalisch-Literarische Quartett.

He is present on numerous CD productions within the range of the early music and as a Lieder singer. For some time he dedicates himself to the Gregorian chant and looks for possibilities of a re-orientation in sounds and music-historical view. As a managing director of the international Grabbe-Gesellschaft he maintains various contacts and impulses in the frontier of music and literature. lives in Detmold and Marienmünster and works as a concert singer, singing teacher (Hochschule für Musik Detmold) as well as a cultural projects at the Klosterregion Ostwesfalen-Lippe.
