The German soprano, Rosemarie Jakschitsch, completed her music education studies, artistic studies in singing (with Professor Sylvia Geszty) and the Opera School at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. She was successful in several singing competitions, such as 3rd Prize of Museumsgesellschaft Ulm, 1st Prize at the Singing Competition Bad Orb, and 2nd Prize and the special prize for New Music at the Federal Singing Competition in Berlin.
During her multi-year opera engagement as a soprano at the Staatstheater Mainz, Rosemarie Jakschitsch sang roles like Olympia (Hoffmanns Erzählungen), Ännchen (Freischütz), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Martha (Martha), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Norina (Don Pasquale) and Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier). In addition, she began a rich concert activity in oratorio and chamber music fields. She had a popular Lied-duo with the pianist Andrea Amann (Stuttgart).
Since 1994 Rosemarie Jakschitsch is a lecturer for singing at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Esslingen (now in Tübingen), and since 1995 also at the Musikhochschule Trossingen. |
