The German conductor, Melanie Jäger-Waldau (née Schulz), studied at the Musikhochschule in Munich church music (A) and concert organ. In the church music exam she also has singing as the main compartment. Her teachers included the Munich Dom organist Professor Franz Lehrndorfer (organ), the Dresden Kreuz Kantor Roderich Kreile (choral conducting) and the director of the Münchener Bach-Chor Professor Hanns-Martin Schneidt (conducting). She deepened her organ studies by attending interpretation courses, for example with Daniel Roth and Luigi Fernando Tagliavini.
In January 1995, before completing her studies, Melanie Jäger-Waldau appealed to the Münster Überlingen. At the Überlinger Münster she operates as an organist, conductor and artistic director of the Überlinger Münsterkonzerte. Her performances have become known both regionally and nationally. CD recordings document the benefits of her work. She has performed great oratorio works with major orchestras (including the Munich's Barockorchester L’arpa festante, the SWF, the Konstanzer Philharmonie, as well as the Kammerphilharmonie Bodensee-Oberschwaben).
Her achievements have been appreciated and acknowledged by a grant from the Bischöflichen Studienstiftung Cusanuswerk (Episcopal Scholarship Foundation Cusanuswerk) and the awarding of the Kulturförderpreises der Stadt Germering (Culture Prize of the Germering City). |
