Since its foundation in 1985 the Junge Kammerchor Baden-Württemberg (= JKCBW) ranks among the outstanding chamber choirs in the country. As a country-wide ensemble it is promoted directly of the Landesregierung (Federal State Government) of Baden-Württemberg as well and the office for culture of the city Stuttgart.
In the centre of the work is located a-cappella choral music of the different eras up to premieres of compositions of younger South German composers. In addition, the big works of the classical choral-symphonic literature belong to the repertoire of the choir. With selected choristers from all over Baden-Württemberg unusual and fastidious programs can be often performed. Thus the choir is sought-after guest in Stuttgart, Schwetzingen, Heidelberg, Reutlingen, Tübingen, Sindelfingen, Baden-Baden and Strasbourg. Concert tours led beyond that to Sweden, Switzerland, to Bulgaria, France, Litauen and Italy.
Special attention is given to promotion and training of the new generation. Depending upon project between 12 and 60 choristers meet for an operating phase on weekends or in rehearsal weeks. Up to six the concert programs per year are prepared thorough preliminary work of the individual members as well as the artistic leader, Jochen Woll, and brought to the performance. |
