The Israeli Bach Soloists (= IBS) is an ensemble dedicated to performing J.S. Bach's liturgical music in a historical approach, following the manner in which the music was originally performed by Bach himself. The ensemble, which brings together some of Israel's finest young singers and instrumentalists, is today considered one of Israel's top Baroque groups.
The ensemble was founded by musicians Sharon Rosner and Zohar Shefi, in order to be able to perform Bach's masterpieces and works by other baroque composers, in a manner based on historical research and with a new, vivid approach to interpretation.
Since October 2009 the Israeli Bach Soloists are presenting, for the first time in Israel, an authentic Bach cantata cycle to the Israeli public. The cantata cycle lets Israeli audiences experience Bach's music over an entire season, in diverse programs presented in various venues across the country from the Negev to the Galilee. |
