The Polish choral conductor ansd theatre director, Tomasz Hynek, is a graduate of the Warsaw Music Academy with a degree in Choral Conducting and the Theatre Academy in Warsaw with a degree in Directing.
He has directed and conducted dozens of theatrical productions and written and arranged music for nearly 50 shows, TV and film productions. Since 1993 he has been a conductor of Choir of the Warsaw School of Economics (Chór SGH), ), reactivated the ensemble and it is to him that the Chór SGH owes its present shape. For over 20 years of activity, the Chór SGH has achieved many successes in the national and international arena. Recently it managed to win the International Choir Competition in Bialystok, Poland. The last of them was winning the 2015 Grand Prix at the International Cantarode Competition in Kerkrade in the Netherlands. The culmination of 20 years of work of the Chór SGH was an invitation to perform an independent concert at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
Since 2014 Tomasz Hynek has been a lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw Music at the Faculty of Choral Conducting.
As a director, Tomasz Hynek debuted in 1999 in the Wegierka Theatre in Bialystok, Poland. with the staging of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry with his own music. His theatre productions were many times award-winning. His performance of And me, Hanna brought him 4 awards: Grand Prix for directing at the XXXVI Opole Theater Confrontations, 1st prize at the 9th Wałbrzych Theater Fanaberies (2011) and two Golden Masks - for the best spectacle of 2011 and for music (2012). Currently he also works in the Theatre of Wroclaw, Poland. |
