The Korean baritone, Yoogeon Hyeon (Korean: 현유건), studied from 2012 to 2018 for his Bachelor of Music degree with a major in singing at Jeju National University, South Korea; then he moved to Lübeck, Germany to study for his Master's degree in Music with Professor Franz-josef Einhaus.
Yoogeon Hyeon had his first appearances in South Korea in 2012 in a supporting role in Giuseppe Verdi's opera La Traviata; as a soloist in Haydn's Nelson Mass in 2014 and in W.A. Mozart's Coronation Mass in 2015 (both at Jeju National University). His first appearance in Germany was in 2018 at a concert of the Korean community in Berlin, followed by appearances in Lübeck: W.A. Mozart's Messe brevis in D major (at Katholische Kirche St. Joseph) and as Papageno in W.A. Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte (stage director: Soeren Schumacher) in 2021. |
