The American soprano, Margaret C. Hunter, studied at Pomona College (California), University College (Oxford University) and the Longy School of Music (Boston). A scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service then took her to Bremen, Germany, where she studied with Harry van der Kamp and Stephen Stubbs.
Margaret Hunter is a specialist in the music of the Renaissance and Baroque, and regularly performs as a soloist at international festivals in Europe and North America. Her work can be heard on numerous radio and CD recordings. In addition to her activity as a concert singer, she regularly collaborates with renowned ensembles in the field of early music, including the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock), Weser Renaissance Bremen, Cantus Thuringia (Director: Bernhard Klapprott), Freiburger Barockorchester and is also dedicated to contemporary music.
On the opera stage Margaret Hunter has participated in productions of works of the 17th, 18th and 21st centuries in Germany, Italy and the USA. |
