The Hong Kong Chinese tenor and conductor, Andrew Hon, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of California, Berkeley (2008-2012); his Postgraduate Diploma in Education - Teaching of Music from Hong Kong Baptist University (2013-2015); his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music - CCM (2015-2017); his Master of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from Yale School of Music at Yale University (2017-2019), where he studied with Maggie Brooks, Jeffrey Douma, and David Hill. He is currently a doctoral student in choral conducting at McGill University (since 2019; expected graduation in 2022-2023), where he studies with Jean-Sébastien Vallée and directs the University Chorus.
Andrew Hon has served as Head of Music at Fung Kai Innovative School in New Territories, Hong Kong SAR (2013-2015); Choir Director at St. John's United Church of Chris in Newport, Kentucky (2015-2017); Assistant Conductor at Yale Glee Club (2018-2019); Section leader/singer at St. Thomas’s Episcopal Church in New Haven, Connecticut (2017-2019); Singer in Yale Schola Cantorum at Marquand Chapel at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music (2017-2018); Director of McGill University Chorus in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (2019-2021). He is currently Professional Chorister (pro-core singer) at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (since 2019). He currently lives in Montréal, Quebéc, Canada. |
