The Höchberger Kammerorchester was founded in 1982 under the direction of Hannelore Höft. The approximately 25 permanent members are made up of musicians from the various German opera and symphony orchestras as well as from students and graduates of the Musikhochschule Würzburg.
The repertoire includes all the major oratorios, including works by J.S. Bach, Mozart, George Frideric Handel, Johannes Brahms, Edward Elgar, Felix Mendelssohn, for the chamber orchestra, depending on the need size is increased to symphony orchestra.
In addition, emphasis is also given to the development of chamber music literature from the Baroque to the present. For years, the ensemble has performed with a wide range of conductors in Germany. In Unna the Höchberger Kammerorchester has already made a name through joint concerts with the Philipp-Nicolai Kantorei. |
