The German conductor, Siegfried Heinrich, gained his first musical experiences as a child he in the Dresdner Kreuzchor and with organ lessons. As early as twelve years he led group rehearsals and acted as piano and organ accompanist of the Dresdner Kreuzchor. After graduation he left the Musikhochschule der DDR for political reasons and moved to Frankfurt / M. , where he studied at the local Musikhochschule as a scholarship holder of the State of Hesse.
After graduating, Siegfried Heinrich worked among others as a lecturer at the Musikakademie of Kassel and from 1961 to 2000 as a church music director of the town of Bad Hersfeld. He founded, inter alia, the Bad Hersfelder Festspielkonzerte (Bad Hersfeld Festival Concerts, 1961), the International Bachtage (1974) and Bad Hersfelder Opernfestspiele (Bad Hersfeld Opera Festival, 1980), whose artistic director he was.
Siegfried Heinrich is the founder and Artistic Director of the Hessisches Kammerorchester Frankfurt (1957), Hersfelder Festspielchor (1961), Frankfurter Konzertchor (1969) and Marburger Konzertchor (1970), the Working Group for Music and Musicians, and numerous other musical groups and institutions. In addition, he worked at the national and international level as a conductor and guest conductor with many leading orchestras, choirs and soloists.
Siegfried Heinrich was married with the harpsichordist and organist Christa Heinrich for 49 years. He had three children, working as professional and amateur musicians, and eight grandchildren. |
