The American pianist and conductor, Markus Hauck, had been trained as a classical pianist in Germany before studying jazz as a scholarship recipient at Berklee College of Music, where he obtained his B.M. degree in Professional Music (2002). He received his his M.M. degree in Choral Conducting, Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory (2003-2005).

He has accompanied and/or conducted over 50 productions in musical theater, opera, jazz, pop, and more. He is also an experienced choral director, with expertise in Unitarian Universalist church liturgy and music. His specialties are: working with singers at all levels of experience and proficiency, from younger kids to college students and professional performers. Comfortable in stylistic crossover from classical to jazz, pop, gospel, rock. Fluent in German (native speaker) and French, some Spanish.
Markus Hauck woirked as Choir Director at Theodore Parker Church (September 2005-June 2008); Musician at Improv Asylum (September 2005-June 2008). He is Co-Founder/Executive Director of Boston Opera Collaborative (January 2006-December 2007), Vocal Coach at Walnut Hill School (September 2007-May 2008), and Music Director for summer services at First Unitarian Congregational Society Brooklyn (The Wild Party by Michael John LaChiusa, June-August 2008). He was Music Director at 4th Wall Theatre, Bloomfield New Jersey (April-June 2009) and First Unitarian Congregational Society Brooklyn (June-August 2009). Since 2009 he is Director of Music Ministry at UU Congregation of Queens. |
