The German harpsichordist and organist, Susanne Hartwich-Düfel, studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich (together with Ingrid Kasper); church Music, organ and harpsichord with Professor Hedwig Bilgam, obtaining Artist Diploma. In 1995, she was a prize-winner at the International Organ Competition Nürnberg (ION).
After her church music internship, Susanne Hartwig-Düfel worked from 1994 as assistant to the former state church music director Hans Martin Rauch at St. Sebald Church (Sebalduskirche) in Nürnberg, and since 2001-2002, she acts as senior Kantorin there, reponsible for all the musical activities of the church. Until the fall of 2008 she directed three choir in Nürnberg-Kraftshof. She also works with the Evang. Kirchengemeinde St. Stephan Bamberg.
An active concert career, e.g. as a soloist with the Orchesters des Staatstheaters Nürnberg, has led Susanne Hartwig-Düfel to many cities at home and abroad. She has performed in radio recordings and premieres, etc. with works by Werner Jacob. In addition to the church's musical activities, a focus of her work is on chamber music with harpsichord. In 2004 she founded her own chamber music series "Konzerte im Hirsvogelsaal" at the Tucherschloss in Nürnberg.. She lives with her family in in Erlangen |
