The Happy Disharmonists is a mixed choir of 21 singers, headed by its founder, Carsten Gerlitz since 1985. Something different for a change. With this motto, the Happy Disharmonists have entertained and surprised their audiences since the early 1980's with unusual and exciting musical interpretations. Part of their repertoire are reinterpretations of contemporary pop, rock, jazz, world and film music for their striking choir performances.
Over the years, The Disharmonists have sung at various stages: in the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus, the Concert Hall of the UdK, Theater des Westens, but also in small venues such as the Meistersaal, the Kleinen Nachtrevue in the Friedrichstadtpalast, the Tempodrom (with "Blauen Montag"), Tipi, Café Theater Schalotte, BKA and again even in the far north: the Lübarser Labsaal. In addition, they have performed the Mozart Requiem and the J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) and other concerts of "serious music" in Berlin's churches, sometimes without orchestra or band.
