Gerda Hagner (Soprano)

Born: Bavaria, Germany

The German soprano, Gerda Hagner had completed he secondary schooling, before studying first pedagogy and musicology. She then changed her major subject to singing. Her extraordinarily lovely natural voice was first trained by the famous Kammersängerin Hilde Scheppan at the Nuremberg Academy of Music, later by no less famous Kammersängerin Annelies Kupper in Munich.

Gerda Hagner quickly began an active concert career that very soon took her beyond the borders of her home state of Bavaria. Television, radio and phonograph recordings made her still better known and created for her a large group of admirers. Domestic and foreign concert tours have confirmed her high artistic ranking as one of the most important concert sopranos of our day.
