The Germman conductor, Wouter van Haaften, studied Dutch language and literature, theology, music, and philosophy in Utrecht and New York, and obtained his doctorate in Leiden with a dissertation on epistemological relativism.
From 1983 to 2004, Wouter van Haaften was Professor of philosophy of education in the University of Nijmegen. He has written on various topics in philosophy of development and education, moral philosophy, philosophy of language, and philosophy of art. Publications in 2007 are: "Conceptual change and paradigm change: what's the difference?" (Theory & Psychology, 17, pp. 59-85) and "The structure of paradigm change" (New Ideas in Psychology, 25, in press).
Wouter van Haaften has also been the conductor of several choirs and orchestras, and is now leading the Bach Cantates Nijmegen project. |
