The German bass-baritone, Viznenz Haab, studied from 1979 at the Musikhochschule des Saarlandes the subjects music education, focusing in singing with Professor Raimund Gilvan, as wel as history at the Universität des Saarlandes. He gradued in 1986 with degree in Music Education with success, the preparatory service for the high school teacher, and in 1988 he graduated with the Second State Examination His voice was discovered at the beginning of the music education studies by Professor Raimund Gilvan and has consistently developed. Important impulses he received in courses with Hermann Reutter (German-language Lieder), John Cameron (English vocal literature) and Marius van Altena (historical performance). The interpretive work with the internationally renowned baritone Siegmund Nimsgern finally brought decisive impetus for his further development as a singer .
In addition to a wide selection in the area of the Lieder, Viznenz Haab sings the great oratorio parts in the works of J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Haydn and Mozart and the standard repertoire such as Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, Johannes Brahms’ Deutsches Requiem, Dvorak's Requiem and Stabat Mater and Franz Liszt's Legende von der Heiligen Elisabeth. He feels at home also in the literature of the 20th century. In particular, be perfoms Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Jedermann-Monologe by Frank Martin or Jesus-Passion by Oskar Gottlieb Blarr.
Concert tours have taken Vinzenz Haab, inter alia, to France, Slovenia and Romania. He has been often heard at the Kölner Philharmonie and the Musikfestspielen Saar, to name just a few stages of his artistic career . |
