The German pianist, Marie Rosa Günter, studied several years in the class of Wolfgang Zill; then enrolled in the early study program of th IFF Hannover where she was pupil of Matti Raekallio and Jelena Levit. She has been studying in the class of Bernd Goetzke since 2010 and is currently pursuing a master´s degree at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.
It is certainly no accident that the Marie Rosa Günter has chosen the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988) for her debut CD- the music of J.S. Bach has occupied a central place in her repertoire since the very beginning. Her involvement with J.S. Bach has been underlined by a first prize of the Bach Competition in Köthen and her participation in Bachfest Leipzig and the Würzburger Bachtage. Other notable awards in her musical career have included first prize in Steinway International Competition, the Classical Music prize from the City Münster and WDR and the first prize at the International Grotrian Steinweg Competition. As a finalist of the German Music Competition in 2015, she was awarded a scholarship which includes several concerts in Germany.
Marie Rosa Günter also has an intensive commitmet to chamber music, joining cellist Stanislas Kim as prize-winner of the 8th International Swedish Duo Competition and the 12e Concours de Musique de Chambre de Lyon. The duo´s debut CD featuring works by Bach, Beethoven and Franck was released in 2014, a live recording from Bremen´s Sendesaal. She currently lives in Hannover, Germany. |
