The American baritone, arts administrator, teacher and director, Patrick Graham, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from University of Missouri-Columbia (2013-2018); and his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance & Literature from Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (2018-2020). In 2016 he won his division of the NATS National Student Auditions; and in 2019, he was awarded the Una Creditor Encouragement Award at the Kansas City District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
Patrick Graham has been praised for his “vocal strength” and “beautiful tone.” He has sung with KC VITAS, the Ad Astra Music Festival, Seagle Music Colony, Eastman Opera Theater, Eastman Collegium Musicum (Director: Paul O'Dette), the Rochester Fringe Festival, and the University of Missouri Opera. A proponent of new music, he recently premiered Advertisements, a song cycle for baritone and guitar by Kian Ravaei, in a live-stream concert with KC VITAS. His concert work includes J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion BWV 245, Haydn’s The Seasons, and Franz Liszt's Missa Solemnis.
Patrick Graham has been Teacher & Director at First Act Theatre Arts in Overland Park, Kansas (June 2016-September 2021); Assistant Stage Manager at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York (August 2018-March 2020); Resident Artist at Opera Columbus in Columbius, Ohio (August 2020-May 2021); Adjunct Professor at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio (August 2020-May 2021); Baritone at The Kansas City Chorale in Kansas City, Missouri; Baritone Section Leader at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Since August 2021, he is serving as the Artistic Director at First Act Theatre Arts in Overland Park, Kansas, a Johnson-county based non-profit that offers high quality theatrical training and productions to students ages 8-18. He is also freelance as a singer and performer, working in choral music, concerts and recitals, and operatic/theatrical performances. His work is focused on creating opportunities for accessible and intersectional arts education. As a director, performer, and musician, he seeks to create theatre and music and art that is thought-provoking, intelligent, and innovative. |
