The German soprano, Cornelia Götz, studied first with Christiane Hampe at the College of Music Karlsruhe, more later with chamber singer Ruthilde Boesch, as well as at the Max Reinhard Seminar in Vienna; she subsequently participated in the opera sudio of the Bavarian State Opera of Miinchen with the chamber singer Astrid Varnay. From 1992 to 2000 she worked with the singing teacher Martino Stamos Vogiatsis in Nürnberg.
In her first permanent engagement Cornelia Götz sang from 1991 to 1994 at the Nüirnberg Opera House with guest appearances in Lübeck, Osnabrück, Mannheim and Vienna. Later she found her way to the opera houses of Berlin, Stuttgart, Köln, Bonn, Linz, Dresden, Leipzig, Munich, Vienna, Treviso, Edinburgh, as well as to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London.
Cornelia Götz came out as prize-winner in several competitions: in 1992 VDMKWettbewerb - Berlin, in 1994 finalist with the ARD-Broadcasting Corporations Competition München, in 1996 Robert Stolz Competition Hamburg, in 1996 finalist with the Belvedere Competition Vienna, in 1996 finalist with the International Competition in Toulouse.
Cornelia Götz has participated in several CD/broadcast and television productions with the Südwestfunk Baden-Baden. In the season 1999-2000 she was permanent nsemble member at the German Opera Berlin. Since that time she is again free-lancing: So as Zerbinetta in Tokyo (under Giuseppe Sinopoli with the Vienna State Opera) in the autumn 2000, then as Queen of the Night in Leipzig, Antwerp and Munich (season 2000-2001) and as Cunigonde (Candide of Loriot) in Munich. Planned among other things further is her parade role of the Queen of the Night at the Semperoper in Dresden, in Munich, Leipzig and Köln, as well as Konstanze in a new production of the Entführung aus dem Serail and the resumption of Cunigonde in Munich. |
