Béatrice Gobin (Soprano)

Born: 1977 - France

The French soprano, Béatrice Gobin, began with studying the piano. She discovered choral singing in 1990 by integrating the « maîtrise des Pays de Loire ». She acquired there a solid choir experience and participated as a soloist in many concerts. After six years in the singing class of Yves Sotin at the Conservatoire of Angers, she graduated with honors in 1998. In 2001 she joined the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, and increased her knowledge of the repertoire under the direction of Olivier Schneebeli. She worked with Viviane Durand and in master-classes with Howard Crook, Jérôme Correas, Noelle Barker, Alain Buet. She finished her studies by graduating in baroque singing with honors in june 2004.

While studying, she has been singing with many choirs as A Sei Voci, the Concert Spirituel, the Choeur de Chambre de Namur. She continues to perform in choirs under the direction of Hervé Niquet (Charpentier’s Médée, Marin Marais’s Sémélé), Jérôme Corréas (Marin Marais’s Alcide), Jean-Claude Malgoire (J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes), Christophe Rousset (Gluck’s Philémon et Baucis, J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248), Dauvergne’s Hercule mourant), Jérémie Rhorer (Mozart’s Idomeneo, Johann Christian Bach’s Amadis de Gaule), Hugo Reyne (Lully’s Atys, Rameau’s Naïs), Laurence Equilbey, Guy van Waas. She also sings as soloist in a varied répertoire : Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, François Couperin’s Leçons de ténèbres, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Lully’s Grotte de Versailles ... She recently sang as a soloist under the direction of Philippe Lefèvre in Charpentier’s Te Deum, with Jérôme Corréas in Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria and with Graham O’Reilly in J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 44. She participated in numerous recordings, including 3 solo discs of sacred music and lullabies.
