Wolfgang Glüxam (Harpsichord)

Born: 1958 - Melk, (Lower) Austria

The Austrian harpsichordist, Wolfgang Glüxam, studied organ playing with Alfred Mitterhofer at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna, as well as harpsichord with Ton Koopman at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. 1979 and 1980 he was winner at the international competitions in Brugge/Belgium and Nijmegen/Holland.

Wolfgang Glüxam began his training activity in 1985 at the Universität für Musik in Vienna, where he is now lecturer for harpsichord. His concert activity led him as a soloist and with his musical partners (Patrick Ayrton, Erich Höbarth, Hiro Kurosaki, Pierre Pitzl, Helge Stiegler, among others) to several European countries, South America and Japan.

On ORF-Editionen Alte Musik and Unica appeared 5 CD's with harpsichord solo works (and/or harpsichord concertos), including early W.A. Mozart works for harpsichord 'Sonates à quatre mains' (with Patrick Ayrton).
