The Canadian counter-tenor and tenor, Daniel Gillis, was educated at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Grade 8 Piano and Grade 8 Voice).
Daniel Gillis performs a broad range of music, from Renaissance to Rock. He is in high demand as a recording studio artist. He has been frequent tenor and counter-tenor soloist with the following choirs since 1997: 17 Voyces, St Matthew's Choir, Musica Divina, Carleton University Choir, Kanata Choral Society, Cantata Singers, and Orchestre de Chambre de Hull. He is counter-tenor in Quintessential, a Renaissance a capella quintet; counter-tenor in SAIJ, a pop / jazz a capella quintet; and lead singer in Permanent Waves, a Rush Tribute.
Daniel Gillis' acting experience includes Frederick (Pirates of Penzance) at the Brockville Theatrical Society, Ralph Rackstraw (H.M.S. Pinafore) at the Brockville Theatrical Society, Marco Palmieri (The Gondoliers) at the Savoy Society of Ottawa, Colonel Fairfax (Yeoman of the Guard) at the Savoy Society of Ottawa, Richard Dauntless (Ruddigore) at the Savoy Society of Ottawa, Leonato (Much Ado About Nothing) at the Sock 'N' Buskin Theatre, Claude Bukowski (HAIR) at the Sock 'N' Buskin Theatre, and Roger (Grease) at the Orpheus (March 2003). He has also Dancing Experience with Ballroom Dance, Hip-Hop Dance and Latin Dance.
