Paul Gerhardt Adam's forte is his expressive way of singing. His interpretations leave room to discover a composition's emotional substance and to enlarge an audience's listening habits. By pointing out the relation between music and words, their understandability and how to handle with them he shows new insights into text and music. He mainly sings oratorio parts and concerts programmes with compositions from the times of Gregorian music to the mid 15th century accompanying himself with fiddle and rebec. And sometimes with songs of more contemporary composers he builds a wonderful bridge to our days.
Along with collaborating on various CD and radio productions, he gives courses in voice and performing practice for example at the Rubin Academy of Music Jerusalem or the Koninklijk Konservatorium Den Haag. |
