The Colombian baritone, Santiago Garzón Arredondo, where he began his musical and singing studies with Alexis Trejos and Diver Higuita at Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA) in his home town of Medellín (2005-2013). Since 2012 he lives in Basel, Switzerland, where he obtained his Bachlor of Music degree in Classical Singing with distinction from the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel (2012-2015); and continued his singing studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis: Musik Akademie Der Stadt Basel (2015-2017).
Santiago Garzón is a freelance singer since 2005; his voice is baritone or deep tenor. He has already sung in various operas such as Charpentier’s Médée, Krenek’s Vertrauenssache, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona, Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi As an oratorio singer, there can be count in his appearances as a soloist Felix Mendelssohn’s Walpurgisnacht, J.S. Bach’s Cantatas BWV 11, BWV 66, BWV 106, BWV 115, Magnificat (BWV 243) and both Passions (BWV 244, BWV 245); George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, W.A. Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle, Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem and various others. He currently lives in Basel, Switzerland. |
