The Hungarian pianist, Gábor Gabos, studies at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, receiving Performers Dipolma.
Gábor Gabos made his debut in Budapest in 1952. In 1959 he won 1st Prize at the International Liszt-Bartók Competition, and in 1960 Laureat du Concours at the International Reine Elisabeth in Brussels. He appeared at prestigious music halls in Europe, such as Festival Hall in London, Musikverein in Vienna, Chatelet in Paris, and Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. He also appeared in Italy, USSR. Japan, Federal Republic of Germany, Sweden, Greece, Switzerland, Peru, South America and throughout Europe.
Recordings: Hungaroton; Pathe-Marconi; Top Award of the Japan Record Academy, 1968. His honours include: Hungarian Government Award Liszt Ferenc in 1959, Merited Artist of the Hungarian People's Republic in 1976.
Gábor Gabos married the pianist Ingeborg Sandor in October 1951, and has 1 son and 1 daughter. |
