The Japanes soorano, Makiwo Furuse [Japanes: ソプラノ:古瀬まきを], graduated from Soai University and from Kyoto City University of Arts. She trained in Dresden, Germany for a year as a trainee of the 2013 Agency for Cultural Affairs' New Artist Overseas Training System. So far, she has studied under Kuniko Taguchi, Makoto Kikawada, Yoshimi Nikushi, Yasuko Sato, Toshiko Tsunemori, Yumiko Tanimura, Shio Omori, Kyoko Ito, and Christiane Hossfeld and Klaus Stephan Dieter in Dresden. She studied also breathing method and music analysis with Ryohei Yamada.
Her awards include: 10th Takatsuki Music Competition Encouragement Award; Selected for the 60th All Japan Student Music Competition Osaka; 24th Settsu Music Festival Osaka 21st Century Association Award; The 6th Nagakute International Opera Vocal Contest Finalist; 15th Matsukata Hall Music Award (Opera Division); Second place in the 31st Iizuka Rookie Music Competition Vocal Music Division; Selected for the 9th Fujisawa Opera Competition; No. 1 in the 2013 Kangakudo Japanese Song Competition Singing Division and the Nakata Yoshinao Award; Best Music Award at 22nd ABC Newcomer Concert; Ranked 3rd in the 25th Takarazuka Vega Music Competition Vocal Music category; 2016 Amagasaki Civic Art Encouragement Award.

Makiwo Furuse gave a solo recital in the 2012 recital series for the up-and-coming performer training project (Osaka Izumi Hall). She has appeared in numerous concerts, including NHK FM "Recital Recita", "Recital Nova", ABC Fresh Concert (broadcast on Asahi Broadcasting), special concerts by musicians responsible for tomorrow, and Izumi Hall Lunchtime Concert. Carmina Burana, as a member of the Osaka Bach Ensemble, she also appears as a J.S. Bach's cantata soloist.
