The German soprano, Renate Frank-Reinecke, is the daughter of the famous tenor and opera singer Paul Reinecke (1902-1967), who worked mainly at the Leipzig Opera House. She studied in Leipzig with Rita Meinl-Weise, then in Dresden with Johannes Kemter.
Renate Frank-Reinecke made her debut in 1958 at the Dresden State Opera. She remained a member of this opera house until 1965. Since 1969 she was engaged by a guest performance contract of the Berlin State Opera; and in the years 1970-1976 the Dresden Opera. She had significant successes in guest appearances at the National Operas of Prague and Budapest.
In addition to her work on the opera stage, Renate Frank-Reinecke had a second equally important career in the concert hall. She appeared mainly in oratorios and sacred musical works by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, W.A. Mozartt and also in compositions of recent masters. On stage, she preferred the repertoire for lyrical as well as youthfully dramatic soprano, coping with a variety of roles.
