The Polish bass, Jósef Frakstein, completed his vocal studies at the Music Academy in Wrocław. He is a prize-winner at the Robert Schumann International Music Competition in Zwickaw.
Jósef Frakstein has a broad repertoire, with the focus on oratorios and cantatas. He has performed on the concert platform and in the opera houses in Germany, Italy, France, Sweden, South Korea, the USA and many other countries. He has made numerous recordings for Polish Radio and TV, as well as for many radio and TV stations in many countries, He is (as of 1999) of the Warsaw Chamber Opera, where he sings all the principal bass roles in the operas by Mozart and Rossini. He also performs regularly in the Chamber Opera in Vienna. He takes part in the annual ‘Mozart in Schönbrunn’ Festival (Leporello in Don Giovanni and The Count in The Marriage of Figaro). He also collaborates with the opera companies in Halle and Erfurt (operas by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Lortzing, Orff, Alban Berg, R. Strauss). |
