Inga Fischer (Soprano)

Born: Stuttgart, Germany

The German soprano, Inga Fischer, completed her singing studies at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Professor Ingeborg Reichelt. Beyond that she worked with Arleen Augér, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Anna Reynolds.

Already during her studies, Inga Fischer was engaged in 1992 by Wolf-Dieter Hauschild at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, to which she belonged until 1997 as an ensemble member. There she sang, among other things, as Pamina (Zauberflöte), Kleopatra in George Frideric Handel's Julius Cäsar and the title role Rusalka. In 1996 she received the Förderpreis of the Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (Country North Rhine-Westphalia) for young artists. Subsequently, she went to the Staatstheater Kassel, where she sang, among other things, Mimi (Bohème), Freia (Rheingold), and the main female role in the European premiere of the opera The Dream of Valentino by Dominik Argento. She made guest appearances at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, the Oper Bonn, the Niederländischen Oper Amsterdam, in April 1999 at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse as Ortlinde under Pinchas Steinberg and in November 1999 as Iphigenie auf Tauris by Gian Franceso de Majo at the Theater Heidelberg. In February 2000 she made her role debut as Salome at the Theater Hagen. With this role she appeared as a guest also at the Ulmer Theater.

In the 2001-2002 Inga Fischer sang likewise Salome at the Staatstheater Mainz, at of Bremer Theater as well as at the Bayerischen Staatsoper München the role of Lisa in Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame, at the Theater Erfurt the title role in Turandot by G. Puccini's, Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer at the Domstufenfestspielen in Erfurt in a production of Werner Herzog. Under the baton of Daniel Barenboim she appeared as Gerhilde in Walküre at the Staatsoper Berlin, and participated with this role in the Japan appearance of the Staatsoper. In 2000 she made her debut in 2000 at the Theater Hagen With the title role of Salome. Since then she has sung this role at the Theater Ulm, the Staatstheater Mainz, the Theater Erfurt and at the Taipeh Music Festival in Taiwan. In 2004-2005 season she sang, among other things, Salome at the Theater Magdeburg and made her debut in Bamberg as Tosca. In spring 2006 she appeared as a guest as Salome at the Vorarlberger Landestheater Bregenz.
